Description

Where three colours meet, two weaving stories cross.

Inspired by the traditional Mubbagam concept of dividing the saree horizontally into three distinct colour sections, this handloom cotton saree brings a contemporary interpretation to the weave. The three colours are woven in a clean, plain texture and minimally hand block printed, allowing each shade to hold its own while creating a beautifully cohesive whole.

The unexpected crossover comes at the pallu – a floral digital print inspired by the fluidity and finish of georgette, bringing softness and movement to the structured geometry of the body.

Paired with a handloom polycotton blouse, hand block printed on the back and sleeves, this is a saree where tradition meets contrast, structure meets softness, and three colours become one story.

Technique

Handblock printed on the body of the saree with a minimalistic approach to highlight the mubbagam effect and compliment the prints in the crossover pallu.
